ABOUT

Built by operators. For operators. In the open.

CORTX is the operating system for the next generation of small and mid-sized businesses. We are building it for the people who run them, with the people who run them.

01 / WHY THIS, WHY NOW

Most of the world's businesses are operationally stuck.

The companies that get most of the attention — venture-backed startups, large enterprises, hyperscale platforms — are not where most of the world's work happens. Most work happens in small and mid-sized businesses. Manufacturing, distribution, healthcare, professional services, logistics. The operational fabric of every economy.

These businesses have been operationally stuck for decades. The software they run on was designed for a different era, by people who were not operators. The cost of changing it is too high. The risk of changing it is too high. So they keep running on systems that everyone agrees are inadequate, because the alternative is worse.

The arrival of usable AI changes the calculation. For the first time, it is possible to lay an operational layer over the existing systems, instead of replacing them. To capture the knowledge inside the building, instead of forcing the building into someone else's framework. CORTX is the company building that layer.

02 / HOW WE WORK

Built by operators, for operators.

We are not consultants. We are not a platform vendor. We are not selling AI. We are operators ourselves — people who have run businesses, owned the failures, and learned what the work actually requires.

The system we are building is the system we wished existed when we were the ones running operations. It is shaped by experience, not by a market study. The structural decisions — local-first, MCP-native, agent-led, human-validated — are decisions made by people who have lived with the consequences of the alternatives.

03 / PRINCIPLES

Five operating principles.

01

The customer owns their intelligence.

The knowledge captured in a CORTX deployment belongs to the customer. The MCPs, the audit trail, the integrations — all of it lives on infrastructure they own. When the relationship ends, they keep what was built.

02

Replace infrastructure, not people.

We do not promise headcount reduction. We do not optimize for layoffs. The operators inside our customers' businesses are the people who make the system work. Our job is to give them better tools, not to argue for their replacement.

03

Validation before completion.

An agent does not mark a task done because it tried. It marks a task done after it verifies that the result happened. The discipline is operational, not theoretical. It is the difference between a demo and a deployment.

04

Observable, auditable, reversible.

Every action the agent takes is logged. Every change to the knowledge layer is versioned. Every integration can be rolled back. We do not ship systems we cannot inspect.

05

The methodology is the product.

We are not just selling software. We are selling a way of capturing how an organization works, structuring that knowledge, and operating from it. The methodology — Capture, Decode, Activate — is the durable asset.

04 / SHAPE

What we are building, in one figure.

CORTX architecture: operators, agent, and existing systems Five operators connect through a central agent module to five existing systems. INSTRUCTIONS flow on the left, VALIDATIONS on the right. OPERATORS THE AGENT EXISTING SYSTEMS AGENT INSTRUCTIONS VALIDATIONS

The agent sits between the people and the systems they already use. That is the entire shape of what CORTX builds.

05 / DELIBERATE ABSENCE

What we are not.

  • We are not a CRM.
  • We are not an ERP.
  • We are not a no-code platform.
  • We are not an AI consultancy.

We are an operating system for the businesses that need one most. The clarity of what we are not is part of what we are.

The next generation of business is being built. We are building the operating system underneath it.
